To drive with only the accelerator pedal, it is possible to set the IONIQ 5 in 'I-Pedal' mode. In short, it is possible to drive and brake to a stop using only the accelerator pedal. The braking is accomplished through the regenerative function of the electric motor.
By means of the paddles behind the steering wheel, you can adjust the various modes of the regenerative electric motor. There are a total of 4 modes, with the most strongly regenerative one activating the I-Pedal mode. The left paddle will increase it, and the right one will decrease it. The current mode is displayed at the bottom left of the dashboard behind the steering wheel.
