Starting your trip

The car key and charging key are in the glove compartment or the central console (between the seats).

If the car is connected to a charging point, disconnect it by holding the charging key against the reader on the connecting point.

To release the cable from the car, press the charge button to the left of the steering column.

Always take the charging cable with you in the car; put it in the boot.

Check whether the passenger's airbag is activated or not. You can activate or deactivate it in the glove compartment, using the car key (which can be removed from the remote control device).

Depress the foot brake.
Then release the handbrake (the small pedal next to the foot brake). When the hand brake is on, the pedal rests against the floor. Press it briefly and allow it to come up.

After the engine has started, move the gear lever to position D, keeping the foot brake depressed as you do so.

The positions are:

  • D = drive (left + towards you)

  • R = reverse (left + away from you)

  • N = neutral (left)

  • P = park (button on top)

  • B = engine braking; when coasting down a hill (diagonally to the left)

As soon as you release the foot brake whenever positions D, R, or B are engaged, the car will start to move. You can see on the display how many kilometres’ worth of battery charge is left. Remember that the actual distance may be shorter than shown. This depends on such aspects as the way the car is driven, the use of heating or air conditioning, and weather conditions.

It's our belief that we can keep the Netherlands on the move with just one million cars. We can do our bit by promoting the use of shared cars. Because the more cars we share, the fewer cars we need to own. If there’s always a shared car just around the corner, you can go wherever you want, whenever you want. MyWheels. Only benefits.
