Starting your trip
The car key and the charging key are in the glove compartment.
If the car is connected to a charging point, disconnect it by holding the charging key against the reader on the connecting point.
To release the cable from the car, use the car key and open the car.
Always take the charging cable with you in the car; put it in the boot.
Depress the foot brake.
Insert the key into the ignition and start the car.
The dashboard display lights up and the word ‘Ready’ will appear on the display.
Release the handbrake by pushing the button at the end of the handbrake and pushing it down.
After the engine has started, move the gear lever to position D, keeping the foot brake depressed as you do so.
The positions are:
P = park
R = reverse
N = neutral
D = drive
B = engine braking; the car slows down utilising the engine when you release the accelerator.
Change from one position to another by moving the control forwards or backwards. The indicator next to the control shows which position the control is in. This is also shown on the display.
As soon as you release the foot brake whenever positions D, R, or B are engaged, the car will start to move. You can see on the display how many kilometres’ worth of battery charge is left. Remember that the actual distance may be shorter than shown. This depends on such aspects as the way the car is driven, the use of heating or air conditioning, and weather conditions.
