Starting your trip
Open the MyWheels app and start the trip as soon you are standing next to the car.
The car will open automatically, followed by a window of 15 seconds for you to actually open the car.
Weren't able to open the car? Then you can open the car through the MyWheels app.
Is the car charging?
First, end the charging session before departure:
Take the charging card/charging key out of the middle console compartment.
Scan the charging card at the charging station.
Disconnect the charging cable from the charging station and the car.
Place the charging cable back in the trunk.
Put the charging card/charging key back in the middle console compartment.
The Model 3 has no start/stop button and turns on/off by sitting on the driver's seat.
Have a seat in the driver's seat and depress the brake pedal.
In the driver's seat, there is a sensor that ensures the car turns on automatically.
By pressing the foot brake, you 'confirm' your presence as the driver.
It might be necessary to depress the foot brake again to be able to put the car into a gear.
When you're ready to depart, use the right steering column switch to select the desired gear. Always keep the normal foot brake engaged when using the gear lever.
The positions are:
P = parking
R = reverse
N = neutral
D = normal driving
The selected gear will be visible on the screen in the upper left.
Please note: Releasing the brake in position D or R will cause the car to start moving.
Have a pleasant journey!
On the display, you can see how many kilometers you have left to drive. Keep in mind that this number may be lower than indicated, depending on your driving style, the use of heating and/or air conditioning, and weather conditions.
