Starting your trip

The car key is in the glove compartment.

If the car is connected to a charging point, disconnect it by holding the charging key against the reader on the connecting point.

To release the cable from the car, press the charge button to the left of the steering column.

Always take the charging cable with you in the car; put it in the boot.

Depress the foot brake.

Press the round start button (to the right of the steering column).

After the engine has started, move the gear lever to position D, keeping the foot brake depressed as you do so.

The positions are:

  • R = reverse

  • N = neutral

  • D = drive

  • B = engine braking; the car slows down utilising the engine when you release the accelerator.

Change from one position to another by moving the control forwards or backwards. The control returns automatically to the starting position. The indicator next to the control shows which position the control is in. This is also shown on the display.

As soon as you release the foot brake whenever positions D, R, or B are engaged, the car will start to move. You can see on the display how many kilometres’ worth of battery charge is left. Remember that the actual distance may be shorter than shown. This depends on such aspects as the way the car is driven, the use of heating or air conditioning, and weather conditions.

It's our belief that we can keep the Netherlands on the move with just one million cars. We can do our bit by promoting the use of shared cars. Because the more cars we share, the fewer cars we need to own. If there’s always a shared car just around the corner, you can go wherever you want, whenever you want. MyWheels. Only benefits.
