To ensure that we don’t unnecessarily occupy charging stations, enthusiastic MyWheelers help us to timely remove our cars from the charging stations. We don’t want anyone to end up with an empty battery! Additionally, for electric cars, it’s generally not good to stay connected to the charging station for days.
Unplug cars: do something good for your neighborhood & earn discounts!
If you’ve completed five electric rides, you can earn discounts and improve parking in your neighborhood by unplugging cars: use our app to move cars from a public charging station to another parking spot. This not only frees up space for other neighbors but also earns you a €2.50 discount.
How does the Unplug functionality work?

1. Open the app
Check if you see the ‘Unplug’ option in the filter at the bottom.

2. Find available cars
Use the filter to see which cars can be unplugged in your area.

3. Click on ‘Unplug’
Choose one of the cars and automatically book a free reservation that can be used to unplug and move the car. Please note: if you also want to use this car for a regular ride? Then please place a standard MyWheels reservation.

4. Disconnect and move
Disconnect the car from the charging station (don’t forget the cable!) and park it for free at another spot within the indicated zone.

Complete your ride and earn a €2.50 discount!

Can I unplug all cars? You can only unplug cars that are (almost) fully charged. Use the filter in the MyWheels app to discover which cars are ready in your area.
When can I unplug cars? Once you’ve driven electrically with MyWheels five times, you get access to the ‘Unplug’ feature in the app. This ensures you know how it works!
What do I earn from unplugging cars? You receive a €2.50 discount for every car you unplug. This discount can be used for new rides in the next three months.
How do I know which parking spots are within the zone? The MyWheels app clearly indicates which parking spots are within the valid zone.
Can I unplug multiple cars in a row? Yes, you can discharge multiple cars and earn a €2.50 discount for each successful discharging.
