FAQ Smart prices
Smart Prices is MyWheels’ dynamic pricing model. It ensures you automatically pay less when many cars are available. During quiet moments, the hourly rate can be up to 25% lower. This encourages driving outside rush hours and allows us to use cars more efficiently.
The price of your trip depends on moment you drive. During quiet hours, the hourly rate is lower. During peak hours, a surcharge may apply. The discount is automatically applied when booking. You don’t have to do anything yourself.
The amount of discount depends on the time slots you choose. To give you an idea of the most affordable moments:
- Weekdays before 12:00 and after 18:00
- Weekdays after 22:00 (late evening/night)
- Weekends before 10:00 and after 21:00
The exact discount depends on the time of your booked trip. Check the MyWheels app for the most accurate and up-to-date rates.
During busy periods, for example on weekends or weekday afternoons, a surcharge of up to 20% on the base rate may apply. This helps us distribute car usage better throughout the day.
Important to know:
- The surcharge applies only to the hourly rate
- You still pay for a maximum of 10 hours per day
- You always see the total price before confirming your booking
During booking, you automatically see which rate applies. You’ll immediately see whether a discount or surcharge applies to your trip. Once booked, that rate is fixed. No surprises afterward.
Yes. If your trip spans multiple time slots, you pay the hourly rate that applies at each moment. For example: if you start during peak hours and continue into an off-peak time slot, you'll pay partly the higher and partly the lower rate. For long trips (multiple days), this usually means you pay less than the base rate.
Yes. Smart Prices works alongside existing products such as Trips kilometer bundles and monthly subscriptions. You can continue to combine them for the best rate.
We’ll keep improving the system. We monitor usage and make adjustments when needed. Therefore, percentages, timings, and price components may change in the future. The principle remains the same: fair pricing based on availability and usage.
